6 mile Tempo run (1 mile w/u, 1 mile c/d). I was shooting for 7:00 pace today, and was merely hoping to hold steady. I thought I started out too fast, and it felt like I wasn't going to be able to hold on. It is strange to see my paces hold even at 6:55 for the first 3 miles, then drop -- 6:52, 6:47, and 6:41 for the last 3 miles. My HR shows that I was probably going beyond my threshold pace (LTHR is ~ 166 bpm), but it felt good. Particularly so since I'm wrapping up 2 weeks of post-marathon recovery. Tomorrow will be first Long Run since Boston -- hoping for a nice, easy 16 miles.
