Nice easy day turned into a less easy day when we ran out of water. Stopped at the top of Stairs for a while to just hang out on a nice rock shelf overlooking the area. Shortly after opted not to stop for water, and then regretted it when all the water sources on the map were dry. Made it all the way to Isolation and hiked about a mile beyond our tent site for water, which was so satisfying. For a short time we considered going to the Hermit Lake Shelter but it was out of our way and was going to make our hike up Washington steeper, which sounded like less fun that the route we planned. Made a nice campfire and hung around for a while before bed. A few drops of run had us running into the tents but it didn't last. I think we were all just ready to call it.
