So here's where I'm at. Motivation kind of went to crap once I decided I would traveling to see family in lieu of doing the competitive Turkey Trot. Then, got a little sick there and threw off my groove. There are no competitive races for the rest of the year around here, so if I'm looking to PR it'll likely be in a TT or out front in a race by myself... And it still might, don't get me wrong, but realistically, in a time trial you don't get the race bump even if your only intention is to run fast, and in a road race, it's too easy to settle once a W seems locked up. In addition, Thurs and Sat will be high risk for not running with the travel and family time, and a Friday workout will be a fartlek if it's a workout at all. And of course, the GD darkness. So, just a perfect storm of demotivation.

With that in mind, I see a few options now...

1) Pretend this week didn't happen and get right back in the swing of things, finding a RR in Dec to shoot for or planning a TT, maybe with some help from John. Not much fitness is lost in a week and it seems like a shame to be building up for months only to stop at the peak phase of the WO plan.

2) Chill out a bit this week, spend a month with primarily easy runs and light workouts, then spend the next three months training for the Bridge Run, CDC, etc. It's not like the past months of training leaves the legs; any training from here on out is still going to build on it. If I end my "season" here, I won't be unsatisfied... 3 Ws plus a 2 and a 3, my 2nd fastest 5k on the roads, 10k debut with reasonable success, and some nice prizes on top of that.

So, I'll think about it on tomorrow's run...

Haha yeah but I already used the wisdom teeth excuse back two months ago. Oh well, we'll call it wisdom teeth 2: no teeth needed
