Notes

Solid long tempo. Goal pace of 5:41-5:45 so we were technically a little out of the range but with more than half off the track, I think we nailed the effort. And who knows, track portions after the first 6 laps were all about 5:40 or sometimes a smidge faster, and the effort was held on the off-track portions, so maybe I mapped a little incorrectly. No biggie, you get the point.

Good workout, led a relaxed 2600 on the track at my group's request to prevent any speedy first laps and then keyed off other guys for the rest. Was playing around with the pace a bit; hung in back during the occasional (subtle) surges to conserve energy, would let a gap open, and gradually would work my way back in contact. Steady pacing has been working best for me in races so was looking to focus on that here too. With about 10 to go, I changed strategy and focused on sticking to the pack. It wasn't any more taxing ultimately, just trying out some different things. Finished up feeling good for sure.

Damn... didn't even notice! And that's even without today's run

Could it be that Bard's course is fast? I figured it would be hilly and slow!

Paul Malek

Wow looks like it... searching a couple names it seems fast, and fair at absolute worst but I'm seeing some big PRs on that course haha

Paul Malek

We're really lucking out with fast courses this season... SPAC, Oneonta, Bard evidently

(big PRs from the guys I searched, I meant)

Just because Bard is full of weird slow kids means their course has to be slow?
