Notes
Nice race in Mt. Pleasant, very scenic. Better performance today, more in line with what I think the 10k was worth two weeks back and right at where I was expecting to run, but I've still got work to do! Trending in the right direction at least. I should note things were a little wonky out there today... the first mile marker was at around 4min, the next around 9:40, and the next right before 16, so clearly more than a little goofy but I think it all evened out correctly (I hope so anyway). It's the 15th annual and a certified course, so I'm thinking the length was right and they just messed up the markers. Could have been worse... could have been Jarrett's course!
Anyway, chilly day around 35, but warmish in the sun. Probably could have gone singlet and gloves but I threw a light jacket on top #noregrets. Took the lead probably about 2min in, gave mile 1 a good effort, maintained on 2, and pushed coming home, obviously no real idea on splits though. 2 barely went up into a slight headwind, but you got it back on 3 (those two miles lollipopped) so a pretty ideal course. Pulled even with the lead car at one point, he fought back, but got him again and TOASTED that sucker! Everything pretty hunky-dory today, no major complaints. Can justify some slightly faster training paces now.
Won some Fleet Feet money, a classy trophy, and some ART! What a haul!
