Notes

First Desert Solstice-specific workout, as per Connie Gardner.

Plan was 20 miles in 3 hours, 2:12 laps * 7 + 2:36 lap with a 1-minute drink/walk break, * 10. Seems insane to try to do this 8 times in a 24, for 160 miles (or not quite, 400m < .25 mi), but that's what Connie says I should shoot for. Get used to 20 miles in 3 hours on the track, feeling fresh, feeling tired, so I know that at any given time I can knock one out. OK...

Well. Track team was here; I had to run in lane 4 for more than half of it, so a bit longer and a bit slower. Also 2:12 laps seem to be slightly pushing it for allowing a 1-minute walk break. 2:11 seems to work. Means 8:44 running pace. For the first block! Later walking will be slower, and I will need more walking. So...

Just one of these blocks kind of beat me up. But I was OK mentally... and really that is the difference between 140 and 160. So I tell myself.
