Notes
Run:
Ran kind of wherever around the resort in Kauai. Another short and easy just to get something in since we had another early morning. Nothing special but I'm still planning a long run tomorrow.
Vacation:
We woke up early to drive the Hana highway back to Kahului to catch our 11am flight to Kauai. In Kahului, we stopped for some dank local breakfast sandwiches before going to the airport. Claire had all these plans for the airplane like listening to a podcast, reading her book, taking a quick nap, and looking out the window, but it was 45 minutes so idk where she was gonna find the time. She ended up just looking out the window the whole time. Everything went smooth until we exited the Kauai airport with no driver there to pick us up. I reread the email from Costco like 20 times - there was supposed to be someone wearing a red floral shirt holding a sheet of paper with our names on it, but no such person was there. We tried calling the tour company a bunch and eventually got a hold of someone who got a hold of the driver and she said he wouldn't be there for another hour. And that was already after the hour we waited after landing. So we got an uber reimbursed instead. Oh well, we made it to the resort and we weren't able to check in until 4 anyway so we killed an hour in the pool before getting our key cards. It was weird being at a resort without any parents there to take care of the logistics. I didn't know how or if to tip the waitress, I wasn't sure what the wristbands were for, and I felt like a dope checking in. It all worked out though. Confidence is key. We swam a bit, I put in a short run, we ate an expensive but tasty dinner, and capped off the night with another episode of Ted Lasso. We got into that show on this trip and now it's almost over. We've been doing good to space it out to one, sometimes two, episodes a day.
