Run:

These Hana runs aren't gonna be super effective cuz it's just too damn hilly and there aren't really any good places to run. I went the other direction down the Hana highway and it was even hillier and I kept having to step into the tall grass to avoid cars. I wanted to go farther but after a big hill climb I decided to turn around at 2.5. Oh well, at least I'm getting something in.

Vacation:

We woke up early again to see the sunrise at the beach since we're on the East side of the island now. We picked a beach that had red sand and some cool rocks and took some pics there. I ran after we got back then we tried to find a spot for breakfast but literally nothing but that same resort restaurant does breakfast before 10 and we didn't really want to go to a fancy place. So we went to this one farm stand (Hana Farms) that was open and bought chocolate chip banana bread and just ate that. It was insanely good. We ate it in the car on our way to Haleakala national park where we hiked the Pipiwai trail, a 4-mile out and back trail that goes through a bamboo forest, has a massive banyan tree, and goes up 800 feet to the base of a 400 foot waterfall. Definitely a top 5 hike in my life. There are some seriously sick views. I liked the bamboo forest a lot. Then we drove a bit further past the park, got a papaya at a fruit stand, and decided to turn around since there wasn't anything to go to past the park really. We got back at like 2, then went back to Hana Farms for a late lunch/early dinner at their restaurant. Everything was delicious - I got a pork sandwich with a mac salad and Claire got veggie tacos with papaya salad. Then we basically ended our day early at our air bnb. I caught up on the olympics then we drank and played a card game that Claire taught me called 99. She beat me 15-7. Maybe I'll open my eyes next time.
