Notes

Did a full practice for the race next week. Woke up at 5 which wasn't too hard thanks to the time change last night. Then I had some coffee that I prepared last night with Claire's help and memorized the steps to perfection. One of these days I'll know how to make coffee. Then took Ogie out and sat by the fireplace with him (I guess that part won't happen next week), did a warm up mile in my trainers, and managed to squeeze out a poop before heading out for a 13.1 mile long run. The plan was to go quick to figure out what I am capable of so I can pace appropriately next week since I'm really not sure where my fitness is at. I planned to do 6:30ish for the first 7 and then just pick it up from there to the end. I put on the racers for this and 6:30 just felt too slow in those bad bois so I was a little ahead of my plan except for mile 5 which included a port-a-potty pee with the watch still rolling. I just kept feeling good. The first sub 6 mile was a little bit of a struggle but I fell into a rhythm and was able to make the new pace feel smooth. Overall super pleased with this and it really upped my confidence going into the last week of training. I will probably plan to run the race pretty similar to this run. I can break 1:20 if I do the first 7 miles just 10 seconds faster/mile which seems possible.
