A fine run out on a beautiful morning with my girl, and it's nice to be getting back to having some mileage under my belt - M and I have both been agreeing lately that we need to re-focus and return to doing more consistent outings during the week, cold temperatures and darkness be damned. While today's is indeed a good run, I do think that some of the heaviness and tightness in my thighs I feel over the final miles may well be in part to simply not running enough during the week. I am, though, especially thankful for the Vibrams today, although I do pay very close attention throughout the run to my running form, foot strikes, and how my feet and toes are riding in them - The pad blistering of the past weeks has subsided nicely, but now I find my toes have been red and swelling over the last several days, and I'm definitely looking to avoid further blisters, chaffing, or irritation. I'm fairly comfortable in my guess that the swelling has to do with my recent (and definitely outside of the norm) alcohol consumption, between Thanksgiving at the Haydens' and celebrations over this week in general, so at least there's a likely culprit to watch more closely. A great run overall and I'm highly looking forward to regaining momentum and building on it from here...

...And I don't think I ever want to run the ghetto bomb-crater hill that is Oak Street again...
