Third Leg of 2012 Back to School 20K Solo Relay - For this Leg, I decided to turn Right instead of Left on exiting the Development and avoided the Stoplight wait altogether. It's a twisty-turny route that I'd only run in daylight, maybe once, like a week ago, and I'm still not 100% sure where the markers are, so I kinda just paced myself by feel. As I was finishing mile two-ish, I kinda spaced out watching some kids shooting hoops and took a mis-step on something hard and about ½" high in the street ... I'm not 100% sure, but I THINK it was a dried out 4" paintbrush; there WAS a Painting Contractor's van parked on the street. No harm though, nothing twisted, strained or popped. Just a little further on, I heard the horn of the NJ Transit Train, which I'd mentioned earlier. Figuring I had about half a mile to go [my watch was at 23-minutes and I was feeling 9:00 pace-like], I gave myself the goal of making it back into my own development before the SECOND Train sounded, 4 minutes later; not necessarily finished, but if it worked out that way, so much the better. The Southbound Horn sounded with maybe 200 yards to go and I stopped the clock at exactly 28-minutes. Yeah, I'm slowing down, but not nearly as much I had the LAST time we did this
