Lined up in middle was hoping not to get pulled out fast, which seemed to work. Started mile comfortable hard and worked up to solid notch group of about 5-6 of us. after the climb at mile 2 i felt like we were taking it too easy and decided to pickup pace on the down and started to push from there hard. Same strategy as i wanted easy on ups and push downs. little disappointed on first 5k split, but felt good and the next 5k rolled a bit more and was happy to see under 40. a notch runner by me at mile 6.5 or so i had someone to try to stay with but they faded off. felt like i was keeping a good pace and hit 8 miles and just dug deeper . at 9 went real hard on the down and finished strong. cant complain and think i got more out of my fitness then i had. i am hoping to do this same pace for 6 more k at the half marathon in 7 weeks
