Notes

I was not going to add any notes, but after a few days thought be good for records. Talking strictly of Race:

When gun went off it took about 4 minutes to get to start and I just went with the crowd and tried not to weave around everyone. The pace was perfect for start not too fast or slow, but about 1 mile in I was not feeling well at all. Everything felt hard and not smooth at all. I knew this was going to be a grind, but kept with the plan of 5 mile splits around 34 minutes and knowing the first one should be slowest. I did not panic when I saw almost 35 mins for first 5, just tried to stay focused and hope I would start to warmup and feel better. This did not happen everything felt forced and after 10 mile started getting right knee pain (IT band) out of the blue. I tried running on the other side of road to ease the knee pain(which would work). Still had 3 hours in mind and if I was around low 1:29 at half I would grind it out hard for it. Came at half and it was 1:30 and knew there was no way of reversing this. So at this point decided to keep running on feel and get another qualifier, but thought I would come in around 3:05. Every downhill was struggle and just tried to recover on downhills, but legs were hurting. Around mile 22 I started a little walk at water stops and then jog. Legs did not have it and was psyched to see Boylston Street and then the saw clock knowing I was going to qualify again and come back stronger next year.

I was able to run the last mile and as I came down Boylston street was looking for the family the whole way. They said they would be on left side near finish. I did not see them but heard them and they were right at same exact spot where a coward left that device, but luckily way before!! This was my first Boston, but not last. I feel so sad for everyone affected by this.
