Flew in from a company retreat last night. Got about 4.5 hours of sleep. Was really sore from the hike before going to bed, but felt good in the morning.

Eric and I started in coral A. Was hoping for at least 8-minute pace or maybe 7:30 given the travel, drinking, and hiking on the retreat. Got a decent warm up and dropped my stuff out at gear check in. Beautiful day, not cold, and sunny. Great conditions given sf.

Splits

Crossed the line about 20 seconds after the gun. The splits listed in the event url are not correct.

1. 6:50, I tad fast, but I wasn't surprised given the downhill and start.

2. 13:50, great pace sticking with the pack

3. 21:00, start of the uphil so I expected a slow down

4. 27:50, surprised by the speed here, given the uphill, starting to pass by people now

5: 34:50, another mile good pace, harder up hill, def passing lots of people at this point

6: 41:30, dropped a 6:40 here and was like shit, I need to really slow down

from here on out I missed the miler markers. They seamed to stop display the half marathon and only listed the full. I could tell I was slowing down and thought it was dramatic. There were def times where I thought about stopping in the second half. I saw mile marker 23 for the marathon and new that I was about 3 out then. And My time was slightly ahead of 70:00. At that point I was able to mentally get back into it and knew I wouldn't walk. But, my legs were totally cached so i couldn't sprint for much.

Finished at 1:32:19 or 7:03 per mile place. Couldn't be happier with the time. Wish I wouldn't have had all the mis steps with training on the retreat, but it show I still got it. Also, this is my longest run since my accident. Awesome.
