Seven-second PR. Due to dog sitting and the race traffic jam, I got there with not a lot of time to spare. Managed to get some photos of the homies before hurrying out in time for the national anthem. No real warmup. Wore my stopwatch to try to stick to goal pace, and found the first mile was 7:11. That, or the mile one sign was short. Anyway, already not thinking too clearly I guess, because my thoughts were going, sure, stick with this and it will be a big PR. I think it was mile 5 - 7 that turned out to be a good deal below goal pace. From there on, it was a matter of hanging on and trying to motivate to keep pushing to the end. Actually, arriving back on the pavement did give me a mental boost, and I think I pushed the last mile pretty well.
Lost AG to a couple of ringers from out of town. :-(
