Notes
I was none too early, due to tending to the dog and road construction most of the way. Then, there are new security requirements that require everyone to park outside the compound. Fortunately, they delayed the start by ten minutes just for me. Met DD right away, met Greg and June soon, and saw Julie E as I was warming up. Watched the kids start and warmed up some more. Not a lot to say about race. Just tried to use my arms more than usual and to keep a brisk pace. The tarmac was fairly wet, but it didn't affect us other than raising the humidity even more. So, I felt I was giving it almost all I had, but was holding back a wee bit, knowing I had two, or one remaining miles. I wasn't feeling horrible, but any faster wouldn't have been pleasant. Halfway split was 10:40, but math capability was poor at that point. Passed Gump guy near mile two, then he had a kick in the final stretch to beat me. I knew it was coming, too, because he did the same thing last year. He's a lot younger, so there's that.
