BQ - 6
First of all, the temp range was 54F - 80F. RH went from 90% - 40%. I think anyone could agree that played a part. Hydrated well the day before, and drank two pints of water before the race. Had a great start, enjoyed it and kept pace through the half. A smart boy would have stopped there. Saw E & P & Auntie K at 33 & pioneers. :) Marty was cheering for me in a couple of places. Took one bathroom break, and kept with the 1:55 and 3:50 pacers pretty well until mile 20. I should know by now that things get difficult at that point. That said, the better hydration helped me entirely avoid cramping, leg or stomach. Crowd and signs were great. Pre-race, met up with Greg and David F, but had no phone; hence no contact with DD or DW. Needed space in my pockets and pouch for rental car keys and GUs.
I guess my pacing was better than most, based on how many I passed vs. how many passed me:
1st half, I passed 75 and was passed by 48. 2nd half, I passed 107 and was passed by 29. Aggregate, I passed 182 and was passed by 77.
