Notes
Warming up for 3 miles. Trying out a track workout now that the snow is melted. Well, mostly melted as one corner of the track still had some. I would have been OK running through it, but since I was doing 400's today, I decided to just shorten it to ~360m repeats (maybe 8sec short).
12 x "400" with a generous 2min recovery. So it was never an especially hard session. Goal was to start around 5k pace and get a little faster. The first 4 were in trainers, 2nd 4 were in Saucony supershoes, final 4 in traditional flats. Splits were:
74,74,72,72,72,71,71,68,70,69,70,66
The first 4 had me using my strength to get moving and warmed. Once in the Sauconys, It felt much easier. I wasn't sure if switching to my flats would be a good idea, but I wanted to see how they felt. Initially, it was rough and jarring for my legs. I got accustomed and felt decent soon. The final rep was faster but not close to all out.
