Notes

It's Monday of a bigger week so I'm forcing a long run on myself. I started a bit later tonight, partly due to circumstances/partly due to hot weather.

I started off slow and feeling slightly full (I had to eat something after work), I wandered near downtown before exploring some neighborhoods east of the Botanical Center and a big ol' park with an old carousel.

I ended up following part of the Dam to Dam course backwards before finally decided a destination for this run: I'd found the Southern entrance to the Sycamore Trail! Of course, as I've long suspected, it was closed. It did have a fancy sign, but if the trail wasn't intentionally blocked off, then nature did an impressive job of felling trees right on the entrance.

Ended up running up Douglas and coming back on Beaver. I started to realize around 9 miles that this route would likely only take me about 14 miles, but I couldn't bring myself to turn away and addon before I reached home. And of course I decided I was done once I got there - oh well. 15 or 16 would have been preferable but it's only a mile or 2.

I did end up picking up the pace the last 5 miles though, so at least I got going faster than Kim's long run ;)
