I was dropping my car off to get a hitch at 4 and planning on running home. Instead they said they'd be done in 30min. I said I'd be back in an hour before they close at 5. That gave me more time on at Carr Park for some soft surfaces.
Those lovely soft surfaces did slow me down though, as did the 20mph wind, and I realized I wasn't going to get 8miles in. Exploring a bit too far meant I exited the park at 5miles with 2.5miles to go and <20min. So I blitzed a few miles back to make it in time to find that I needn't had hurried, the car was done but they weren't closing down.
I finished off 8miles with 6 messy strides (not long enough strides and very windy).
