Finally got that long run in. While I'd done several Thorsdays in August that took 90+min, they didn't feel like true long runs, of which I hadn't done in nearly 2 months. I was meeting Chase in Ely for 10 miles so I got there early to scope the town. I started very slow as it was mostly uphill to start and I only got about 2.5 miles beforehand as I stopped for a bathroom.
I had seen some fun-looking gravel and Chase seemed up for it so we headed East out of town. We had a couple miles of rolling hills, something neither of us had done much of lately. We looped around and as we found fewer hills, the pace dropped to 6:30's. We entered town again and hit the bike path which made the 6:30's come easier. I added on 2.5 miles again (slower, but not terribly).
