Notes

Hot and windy today, joined up with Hazros for a few miles and they stopped at 3, so I had a decision to make.

I had signed up for a Pella race on Thursday, but I didn't feel like driving over there. So today when I saw the Hoover track open, I thought about just doing a track workout. This was a bad idea for several reasons, but mostly because tomorrow I would likely been fresher and much less windy. But, my impatience won.

My first thought was a nearly all-out 800 or 1000 depending on how I felt (obviously I should have just picked 1 and gone with it). I started with the wind at my back and it pushed me to a 30sec opening 200, followed by a 34sec into the wind. The next 200 was only 34sec again and then I was brought to a stand still in the last 200, finishing the 800 in 2:15. That was pretty demoralizing so I did another 400m with short rest in 67sec followed by 2 ~150 sprints.

But the goal was to get on a track and work myself, success.
