A return to warm and very humid mornings, or what this whole week has been when not storming. Maybe it would have been better to force a workout yesterday in cooler conditions, but here we are (plus I preferred a XC workout). I figured tempo or long repeats might be a big ask so I recalled a faster workout, short reps with good recovery, and hoped for the best.
2.5 mile warm up with Drew and put some spikes on. So much sweat already. Workout is 20 x 30sec @ ~mile w/ 90sec recovery. We eased into the first couple to continue the warm up and ease into the pace. By the 3rd we were in the 4:40's, and would stay there from rep 6 on.
The recovery was excessive and I felt good the whole time other than some form failures by the end. Or as good as I would expect as I wouldn't say the pace was relaxed (though I think I could run a mile about that pace).
I'd say we did pretty well for this hot week and maybe it's actually cooler down for good soon.
