Notes
It's April so it's time for race pace! And apparently that means time to suck.
XC Course since I can't pass it up now that it's dry. Just going to do 4xmile.
5:20: Right on pace, but already regretting wearing flats (since that's what I'll be racing in next weekend). They weren't slippery but they weren't grippy. Should have just done spikes.
5:18: Surprised to hold pace as things weren't feeling as smooth.
5:27: Hit all 3 hills in the lap (the lap is 1.3miles) and I suffered for it.
5:38: Ugh, another mile with all the hills and I just couldn't get back on pace after each of them.
At least I can't directly compare this to another workout due to the flats/grass combo. Maybe I was just tired, maybe this shouldn't have gone well. I was debating training through next week's race but I think I need to "taper" and take it easy for the next week just to have a chance at running well. Then again, it would be silly to get my first road race in 18months and take it for granted.
