Storming for yesterday's group run so I skipped that (good choice) but also ended up skipping any run. I haven't been feeling great outside of runs, my hips and sometimes back have been tight. So perhaps it was premature to do a 20min time trial today. I've been wanting to try a hard flat effort since all my races in the past year have been trail or cross country and that's harder to compare to previous years. Granted, it's hard to simulate races and my only good option for a flat course is the gravel path (I'm trying to think if I've ever done a gravel race).

Almost 3 miles of warm up due to a late urge for a bathroom. I started off feeling alright, faster than my goal pace of 6:00. 1st mile in about 5:50. Perhaps too fast, as things turned quickly. I had a slight uphill that slowed my down, then a u-turn that took all my momentum and the slight downhill didn't help. But the real problem was my stomach feeling terrible. It didn't feel quite like the old problem nor like I went into AFib, but no fun nonetheless. I decided to stop early, not quite 14 min. 2nd mile was still about 6:10.

So that sucked, maybe evacuating right after the warm-up triggered something. But the overall takeaway is to remember that I still have a long way to go with my fitness.
