This could have been a miserable start and an even worse end, but it worked out. I finished work at the office to find a total downpour outside, and unfortunately, I left my running clothes in my car (I wasn't planning on running from work, but figured I'd want a shower after getting wet). My shoes and pants got drenched but thankfully it lightened up after that (I'm one to enjoy the rain, but I certainly didn't want to get drenched right away and then for the rain to stop).
I felt pretty good taking it easy on this run. The downside was the miles seemed to pass slowly, and I needed to go pretty far (farther than I imagined) to get over 4 miles to start turning around the loop.
With half a mile to go, I realized I had brought my car keys with me, not my badge to get back into the locker room (I guess it's been a while since running from the office). Luckily, there was 1 guy on the elliptical who was just about to leave (though I did have to bang on the outside window to get his attention).
