Notes

Another year, another shit show. So I'm not even giving this race its own entry. Compared to last year, the good news is my glutes and back didn't get tight, but I still had trouble breathing and stomach issues. I guess those are unrelated then?

I got out a little slower but still tried to get into the top 10 by the time we got to singletrack. It didn't feel great but I thought it might turn around. Drew and I stayed together for the first mile or so, and I was managing to not fall apart, but the front guys were pulling away and when Bowerman passed us, Drew joined him and I accepted that I wasn't going to feel better.

With my legs feeling alright, I went faster than last year and didn't feel as miserable (the course was the exact same for once).

I thought I was very conservative with my eating and core the past few days, so this was frustrating. I guess I'm doing a road race next week to see if the cold is doing this to me or the trails for some reason (or something completely different).

Rebel.

Are you insinuating that you don't want to do a road race next weekend?

Nutmeg

Nope, I'm all in.
