Loras Track

Notes

*Loras Open

***A lightning delay kept us inside and off our typical schedules. When we could warm-up, it seemed like the weather hadn't changed but no further delays were issued. The track was wet but the conditions ideal: a cool night race with fresh air and little wind. I got to the back of the lead pack and held on. 1 guy was reading splits and we kept hitting 73's. That seemed absurd but I felt good. I want to say the first 1600 was 4:53 or 4:55 and I couldn't help but think that I couldn't even run that time for a mile until 2 years ago.

The pace was new territory for me and my form fell apart before my strength did. Siafu told me he'd never seen that bad of running form from someone still going fast. I'd lost contact with the leaders but passed a few others to get 4th. Tim, again, a few seconds behind. Pollux and Drew also PR'd.
