Notes
With Drew, I was shooting for 11 the first 8 miles or so, after that it was Drew that was motivated. We did a 7 mile out and back before adding on, and the add-on seemed to take forever (maybe I shouldn't have just looked at my watch at any point).
Despite seeming like it took a while, this run felt good. It wasn't too fast as most of the bike path was somewhat snow-covered: very little slipping thankfully.
Followed up with some Insanity with Brittney.
***Quick Year in Review***
I ran 2273 miles, quite a bit less than the ~2800 I've done that past 2 years. Despite that I feel like I finished in just as good of shape as 2014, and I wasn't as injured (not that I'm currently completely healthy, hip/groin continues its dull ache for the entire year).
As far as races, I didn't have any defining ones like my marathon and 50k of 2014. If Luther meets are my key identifiers then they went: Alumni=bad, Norse=meh, All-American=great. Basically track wasn't fun, but xc season was mostly awesome. Really, if Living History Farms had gone better (or maybe if I'd raced again afterwards), I think I would be feeling much better about 2015.
Future: I'm planning to run more in 2016, though I don't have any specific races to fuel that training. I also won't be motivated by a new setting (as I moved to Des Moines in 2015). Maybe searching out a training group would be a good idea. I also find myself more and more interested in climbing and other sports. Time will tell.
