Another semi-track day. 2.5 miles to the track and I warmed up with a 3 minute tempo. I passed the gas station but turned back a minute later to just use the bathrooms when I have the chance (it was a good choice). Then another 3 minutes of slow tempo to the track. The made up workout today was 800m @ ~6min pace into 400m @ ~5min pace. Then alternating that with its reverse (400m faster into 800m tempo).

Once started, my suspicions that my legs were a bit more tired than last workout were confirmed. My response was cutting the 400m down to 300m. The 2nd rep was my slowest with a 1min and 3min and my thoughts trended towards hoping I'd get 4 total repeats. I felt better on the 3rd rep, which just convinced me going from slow to fast felt much better. That convinced me to get to 5 reps.

I still felt good enough so I planned on a 6th. But during that recovery I was tiring and lamenting the long cool down. Plus, I worried about needing a bathroom again. So I did the 300m on the track, stepped out the gate, and did the 1/2 mile tempo on the sidewalks. I still felt good after that (or maybe I just preferred the extra rep to easy pace), so I did a 7th rep. That contented me even though I wasn't feeling fresh today.
