Notes

Much warmer back in CR and especially with the sun upon us. Drew informed me he felt great running on his own and proceeded to get us rolling quickly. My legs were not ready but the miles went by fast and once we got on the singletrack I began to settle in. Then I got a side-ache. That still didn't keep the miles from rolling by. And soon by plan of 13 wasn't the plan anymore as we hit what we believe was the end of the trail about 7.5 in.

The sun was fading along with the heat and light. Starting early allowed for enough time in the daylight though. My core started to tighten up on the way back (which I thought it might). I wasn't planning on trying for a bathroom, but suddenly we were at the parking lot 3.5 miles out and the porta-potty was gone. That was sad (maybe more disheartening to realize I won't have it all winter). I wouldn't need a pit stop the final couple miles but I do wonder if one could have relieved some tension as my lower back tightened up. I slowed us down the final 3 miles and still felt pretty good. It was after the run and into most of the evening that my back was hurting. But that only lasts 3 hours or so making it still a good run.
