Notes
Notice: this entry starts off rambling and complaining.
Winter decided to give me a rude-awakening, yesterday I was shorts and a t-shirt skipping around in the sun. Today it was 25degrees and dark with snow on the ground. I knew it would be my 1st headlight run, but did it also have to be my first hats, gloves, pants, snow on trails, take a few miles to warm-up run? I guess I'll get used to it.
Anyway, the run. I suppose some people had been out already since the trails were mostly cleared of snow. It was more slippery than usual, but not a big deal. My bigger worry was tripping as my headlamp doesn't illuminate every rock and root. After a few miles I warmed up and picked up the pace, probably too hard (it is post-race afterall). Got back much earlier than anticipated, but that is probably a good thing since my feet were starting to ache.
