Well shit, I have 1 week of good training and workouts and I think I am invincible. Another failed workout. Yes, my diet yesterday could have been better. Yes, I didn't ease into the fast paces with a tempo like in previous workouts. Maybe I just shouldn't run with people.

So I met Chase in Solon for a track workout (my idea). 2.5 mile warm-up, a little fast for my taste. Then to the track, plan was 2k repeats @ 5:20+ pace. I didn't even complete one. I got to the mile in 5:25 and stopped. I tried one more rep and stopped after 800m (2:43).

Chase ended up not running with me, he went a little slower and got in 2.5 reps. I got another mile in while he ran and almost another mile as he went to the bathroom. Best part of the day was dribbling a soccer ball I found and scoring with class I would say. Then I actually got 4 more miles with Chase. That was a surprise that I could handle it. Granted I stopped the workout before destroying myself.

At the time, I wasn't fazed much by the failed workout (it's become pretty common after all). But looking back, now I'm a bit bummed. I was getting pretty excited about racing in 2 weeks and now I'm more anxious about it. All I can do is get back on the horse and hope I don't get bucked off next time.
