Not a bad 5K. I really needed to do a race for two reasons. 1- I needed to race and feel good about myself. 2- I needed to prove that I could run hard for a good period of time without feeling so miserable while showing myself I could be mentally tough again. I did both today. I probably could have run a little faster but I kept a solid effort the entire time. I did not look at my watch once because I didn't want to beat myself up mentally and I was surprised at how well I did. It made me feel better about my workout earlier in the week that went terribly and I didn't feel like 5:55 pace was that difficult at all. This gives me a lot more confidence and I'm feeling better about where I am again.
