ITS TIME! I have been working for this day and it was my last run before my first half! Its here.
My heel was still pretty sore but I knew I had to get out there and run even a couple miles at a slow pace before Sunday. First quarter mile was very painful and I thought I wasnt going to be able to finish. I was getting sad and decided I would try to at least go .5 and see how I felt. I am not kidding when I say that at .48 the pain subsided and I was off....
I didnt want to push to much and actually forgot heart monitor but had a great easy pace going. I had 3 X 30 second strides and decided I would just go at easy pace and get in 3!
Mile 3 came and I felt great! I picked it up and did some faster strides counting in head (I was in moment and didnt want to pay to much attention to watch)
It felt great and I kept thinking ... 2 more days and I only have to do 4 of these type of runs :) Was a good day, stretching, icing and recoverite completed with more to follow :)
I am excited, I am nervous, but I am ready I think.
