--- Ran these two loops 21 seconds faster than Friday when I ran it after a day off. Breathing was still out of whack early and often but legs felt fine for the most part. Very humid. ---

Woke up at 6 a.m. after another bad night sleep (Garmin said I had 2 hours, 33 minutes of sleep last night and woke up at 4:18 a.m.). Was out the door a little after 7 a.m., so not bad for my normal routine. Still need to tighten it up some. Had an OK stretch but my legs felt a little tired. Planned on running the same loops I ran five days earlier on Friday - 1.24-mile WTSL and 1.17-mile Redbud.

Started out and my legs felt heavy. Told myself to just start out slow. Waved to the older guy I always see running on the other side of the road toward me at about this time. Tied to ease it up the little hill before Junior High Drive after coming through 0.25 miles in about 2:09. Was breathing hard until a little ways up after the top. Got back into rhythm on JHD. Made the left on Parks feeling good down the hill. Got through Dale Elementary without much fanfare and down the University, picking it up there. Hit the first mile in 8:49 which I knew was faster than when I ran this five days prior on Friday (8:52). Picked it up a little bit with the slight downhill on University and ran the final 0.24 miles of the first loop in 2:04 (8:37 pace), and the 1.24 miles today in 10:53 (8:47 pace), seven seconds faster than Friday.

Picked it up slightly on Lowell but eased back shortly after. Took the left on Normal and struggled as usual there. Just that gradual uphill there always gets me late in runs. Started to really feel it at 1.60 miles and that really lasted up until the top of Rosebud around 1.85 miles. Took me a bit to recover but I started to feel good again late around the corner and I crossed Parks without any traffic issues. Got down to University and started to open it up again, first seeing 7:45 pace and later low 8:00s. Ran the first mile of the second loop in 8:47 and the final 0.16 in 1:21 (8:27 pace). Ran the 1.16 miles today in 10:08 (8:44 pace), 13 seconds faster than Friday.

Altogether it was 2.40 miles in 21:01 (8:46 pace) and 21 seconds faster than Friday when I ran it after a day off. Breathing was way too hard still but legs felt fine for the most part. I was kind of soaked with sweat when I finished as it was pretty humid out. Nice little three-day stretch for me but looking forward to a day off tomorrow. Making some small progress.
