--- Ran these two loops 40 seconds faster than 10 days ago. Legs were tired and I dry-heaved at 1.72 miles (usual three times), but the rest was fine. ---

Mile splits: 8:51, 8:48 (17:39) and 4:05 (21:44) last 0.50 miles (8:10 pace)

Adjusted splits: 8:38, 8:44 and 8:27 pace last 0.48 miles

Had a good night sleep for once so that was splendid. Had a decent stretch in the morning before the run, sipping on some water as I did. Planned on running the 1.47-mile Pedofile Adjace loop and the 1.04-mile Parks loop, the same loops I ran 10 days prior.

Stared out and legs were immediately tired, and my lower back was hurting a little bit. But both got better as the run went on with the legs taking much longer to feel good. Turned left on the other side of Normal Ave., hitting the 0.25-mile mark at 2:11 (8:44 pace). The next part up to Parks Ave. actually went by pretty fast. Turned right on Parks, hitting the 0.50-mile mark in 4:29 (8:58 pace). Turned left and the LMAAC hill looked a little more daunting than last time. I felt good going up it, though, until the very top when I started to labor. I jogged to start the downhill on Dale Ave., hitting 0.75 miles in 6:47 (9:04 pace). Started to feel good again on that long downhill stretch past Normal Ave. Hit the mile in 8:51 (8:38 adjusted), which I knew was much faster than last time (9:09). Took the left on University and cruised the rest of the loop with the slight downhill. Ran the last 0.45 miles in 3:50 (8:32 pace) and ran 12:41 for the 1.45 miles (today) of the Pedofile Adjace loop (8:45 pace).

Just 1.04 miles to go. Got past Lowell Ave., taking the left on Normal. Usually I drag here to get to Parks and it was kind of like that here too, especially when I dry-heaved at 1.72 miles (normal three times). This kind of cut into my pace a little bit and I struggled. Took the left on Parks and got by Dale Elementary, knowing that the rest was either flat or a slight downhill. Hit the 2-mile mark in 17:39 (8:50 pace) following an 8:48 (8:44 adjusted). Took the left on University and picked it up pretty much the rest of the way home. Was at 7:55-to-8:00 pace seemingly every time I looked at the Garmin. Cruised home with the first mile of the second loop in 8:42 and the 1.04 miles overall in 9:04 (8:43 pace).

Altogether it was 2.50 miles in 21:44 (8:42 pace) (8:38 adjusted). Happy to get the run out of the way and make some progress, running the same two loops 40 seconds faster than the last time 10 days ago. Looking forward to a day off tomorrow.
