Intended to run at NCC this morning but stayed up too late watching Olympics. Started out feeling tired and the legs were sore from basketball yesterday, but was picking it up by 20 minutes. By 45 minutes, I was moving at a great pace that I held the rest of the way or maybe increased a bit the rest of the way. I just felt good out there and got into a good rhythm. Started to rain a little the second hour. The temperature was nice this morning, which helps a lot. At 90 minutes, I got on the bike path and timed a couple miles (5:48, 5:52). Unfortunately, the place where I have stopped for water in the past at 75 minutes was not working. On top of that, I didn't have any Gu or anything to eat this morning, so I was feeling hungry, dehydrated and tired the near the end. The last 20 minutes got rough, but it should be. That's the time mental and physical strength is built the most. I held my pace and timed the last uphill mile to my house at 5:55. I was totally exhousted after the run. Still feeling it now. Best 2 hour run of the year. I only wish I had run it at NCC.
