I’m still sick and probably delaying recovery by continuing to train, but it’s hard to back off.
Went to NCC this morning to start a pattern of Thursday track workouts. Did a ½ hour easy warmup with Henz and Monty, took a dump, changed shoes and headed to the track.
I stuck to my plan of doing two sets of 1 mile, 1200, 800, 400. Monty did a 400M repeat workout and Henz has to go coach the women.
My weakness is leg turnover and it showed. I had no problem with the mile or 1200M repeats, it was the 800 and 400M that I had a hard time with. These are exactly the kind of workouts I need and I’m frustrated that It’s late Oct and this is my first one.
The last 800 really hurt. The legs were tight the whole second lap. Overall, it was a good workout but I wish my health was better. I know I can run faster than this. The last 3 or 4 weeks have not gone the way I would have liked due to work conflicts, sickness and family issues.
