Notes

I'm just glad I was able to do this run. When I woke up this morning, my knee was hot, throbbing and hurt a lot to bend. Instead of running first thing in the morning, I decided to wait until later in the day. I had a couple Advil for breakfast and by mid morning, the knee didn't hurt as much. Unfortunately, my legs were sore and tight everywhere else and my lower back was stiff. What a mess!

I started out very slow and was afraid the hamstrings my just lock up on me. Easing gingerly into the first couple mile, I loosened up a little but kept the whole run close to work in case I had to turn in. Fortunately, it never got too bad. Besides the hamstrings being tight, My upped quads were really sore and tight. I think the combination of the long run Saturday, the bursts of sprinting while playing two-hand touch football on Easter and overall aches have really dug me into a hole. I think it will be fine. Nothing is too serious, but I need to be careful not to overdue it any more. Of course stretching, icing and other maintenance that I don't have time for would probably help too.

I'm really disappointed that I haven't been able to get back into a pattern of longer runs on Tuesday and Thursdays. Something has always seemed to prevent it the last several weeks. Hopefully next week will be better.
