I had several problems out there this morning. I ate too way too much last night. I started off the run dehydrated, which contributed to late run tightness and near cramping. I had trouble falling asleep last night and then Kelly kept waking me up by coughing all night, so I was super tired from a couple nights of bad sleep.

I started from work and headed out toward Blackwell with the original intention of doing hills today. Both calves were tight to start but I thought they might loosen up by the time I got there. I got to the hill at 27 minutes but they were still tight. Given how beat up my legs have been feeling lately, I decided to keep going across to the Mack Road loop and then come back to the hill and maybe I would be loose by then. I built up the pace and got into a good rhythm. I headed back toward the hill but I was still feeling tightness in the calves and a bit in the hams too. I decided to just keep the pace moving. After an hour I really started to just tighten up all over and the pace fell a little. I pressed on but tried to be relaxed, if that makes sense. I finished up and definitely could tell I was very dehydrated and just plain tired.

On the positive side, it was a great morning. Nice and cool and even cooler on the limestone paths. The first 15 minutes were pretty dark. Easy tomorrow and racing the alumni 5K cross country run Friday night.
