Notes
Ooofff. This was a bear. Workout mimics something I did on 3/2/2019 with a bit more volume:
13 @ base + 5 x (3/4,1/4) @ (LT,7:30) + 1 mile c/d
With Simon. It was only 70 this morning, but it was muggy and the first few miles felt terrible. Already I was sweating through my shirt and feeling a bit tight. Loosened up after half an hour or so and I got optimistic around the middle of the run. The last few "easy" miles got a little quick and by the time I started the quick reps I knew it was going to be a fight.
Simon and I were trading the lead for the first two reps and running pretty close, but by the third rep I was already slipping. Stayed right on him, but it was a big effort. The fourth rep I fell off him, but still ran sub 5:50 pace. I cracked on the last rep (to 6:00) but got it done.
Happy to have almost hit the splits on a tough day for running, made all the tougher by Ruth's teething and snot filled nose, which kept her up a good chuck of the night. What's next?
