It feels so refreshing every time I don't run in Cambridge/Somerville/Medford. Today I drove out and parked at Newton Center and did a lap of the course (up HB, back around Beacon/Washington/Comm Ave and then added Otis St.) with some half mile pushes.

For the up-tempo efforts I was gunning for something like threshold EFFORT, which I've traditionally been bad at. Mostly because I do so much of my work over easy terrain. Well this was pretty rolling and the temps were up and I think I did a pretty good job. Paces for the on reps ranged for 6:05 to 6:35 depending on the terrain, which for this time of year is fine. I'd be interested to see how much of that is fitness, i.e. what I could do on a track on a 65 degree day, but for now I'm happy knowing it felt right.
