Had to wait about 20-25 minutes for the cadets to come to the run portion of the fitness test so we were standing in the pouring rain and I was already wet (and ran 5.5 miles) so it was not fun for my legs. Stopped my watch after the first 5.5 solo in order to get an overall on the runners. Goal was to run the first mile of their test faster and keep them ahead of their "need to pass time", but they were not with me at the 1 mile so I waited and then tried to bring them in again... not so much. Ran the next 10 with Manz -- went out to the outer harbor, aka, you have to run over 2 overpasses to get to where we turned around... and then back again... and the last 2.5 of my solo run were again, over an overpass (which I ran over in my first 5.5). So needless to say I got some hills and tons of rain.

Felt pretty good. Had an awful side cramp around miles 9/10 and walked for a minute to make it go away (it didn't). Eventually it got better. We both stopped to stretch our hips every 2-3 miles, which was good for fueling. Drank about 24 oz over the entire run (mostly as needed) and ate one pack plus 2 chews of another. I took two probably every 2-3 miles after the first 5. Felt strong for the majority of the run and felt like I could have continued the rest and finish a marathon if need be today.
