First mile ever and it was SO. MUCH. FUN! Goal was to go out there and run fast, hang on as long as I could, and most importantly, COOK Mia Rampton, and I did just that! It was so unlike any other race I've run, there was no time to think or second guess, you just had to freaking move! I feel as though I executed it very well for once- I got out hot to catch up to the other 3 chicks who were up at the other start, sat behind them and relaxed my arms, and then just freaking went for it and went balls to the walls the last lap! Everyone was finally saying I had a kick!!!! I think I just run faster when I know I have to prove myself (and when racing Mia). I knew nobody would think I could run a fast mile, heck I wasn't really sure I could either. Even Chapman was like "I thought you'd run a 5:10" haha. This was EXACTLY the race I needed before next week! No pressure, jut going out there and proving I can do something fast, gaining some newfound confidence, and just a fun race before something more intense. I basically had to beg Chapman to let me do this and I knew racing Mia would fuel my fire and showing Chapman I could do it would help my confidence! So excited to race next weekend!!!
