Conference 3k. Megan got out like a bat outta hell and neither caroline or aubrie went with her so I just chilled behind them. After about a K-K.5, Caroline started picking up the pace and I had been getting antsy anyway, so I went with. Each lap after that felt like it got faster and faster. I still felt pretty chill though and figured we were going like 10:10 pace. At 400 to go I tried to pass her, but she picked it up too so I just held on the best I could. Sorta had a kick, I mean my last lap was technically my fastest so I could call that a win? I was honestly sort of pissed off when I saw my time, I definitely thought we were running way slower and even if I had run like 3 seconds faster I'd definitely be into nationals. Everyone told me my time would still convert to a second faster but it must've barely been slower than my ISU one. Really kicking myself that I didn't go out with Megan, I know thats not the point of conference and I would've died a little probs, but it stinks being that close without even feeling like I gave it my everything. Not going to get to run it at last chance, so just gonna have to see if it sticks. Either way, itll be alright- I'm okay with putting all my eggs in one basket with the 5k, but it would be sorta cool to see what I could do in the 3k.
