5k Time Trial Cedar Falls Duck Dash! This was a fun race! We were joking on the way down about how there was only going to be like 20 people there and then...there was only like 20 people haha. Started off conservative with Lexi and Ellie and then shaved tenish seconds off each mile. I was scared to be caught in the crossfire that is the Ellie-Lexi battle to the death, but I was proud of myself for being able to hold onto the pace and not get dusted at the end. I finished holding hands with Lexi and we didn't know which one of us won until they actually announced it haha! we probably looked like a gay couple because she was wearing a pride tank top and we hugged each other forever at the end. She said she didn't care which one of us won, which I thought was funny since she had told me during the cooldown that my shoe with the chip on it crossed before hers did...which is something someone would pay attention to if they were trying to win haha. But she honestly probably would've outkicked me anyway, so it was nice of her to not do that. I anticipated my time being slower with it being hot and a road race, but I think I was still hoping for it to be faster. However, I definitely did not empty the tank, so I know it could've been faster had we gone out harder and picked it up sooner and maybe it was good that this was more of a tempo effort. It was fun to race with the chicks and see how well Addy and Kelly did too. Even though it wasn't exactly what I wanted, it's hard to be disappointed when so many other girls had really killer time trials this week
