Solid workout with Aubrie! Usually I am one of the people who can keep a positive attitude despite any mental/physical strain I am experiencing, but I have to admit it was a lot harder to do that today. I still refrained from saying anything negative outloud, but the thoughts in my head definitely were more prevalent today. Honestly, I don't think it was just the exhaustion from camp or being sick, but more so the fact that I had very minimal food at camp (especially the night before when my baja bowl had chicken in it and I couldn't eat it). I just felt very weak. However, I still had a good workout and it was a great mental challenge, especially with the volume. I knew that I would feel better as the workout progressed and that the reps on the track would feel way easier than running on the road, so I just mustered through the fartlek portion and was able to feel pretty solid about the 800 and the 400's. The biggest takeaway from the past two weeks is how well I've been doing in workouts despite being under the weather and tired. Normally I'd be upset with how I've been feeling in workouts, but I am actually sort of...impressed with myself? IDK how to word it haha. Anyway, I definitely have not been taking the best care of myself (water intake, protein, food quantity in general, electrolytes) so even though I'm "impressed" with how well I am doing despite all that, I can't ride that high forever. Goal for the weekend is to get back on top of that to have a great week next week too.
