Loops of Gray's Lake in a new pair of Next% to break them in before next week. Hoped this would feel easy to get a bit of confidence before CIM, but that didn't happen. It was windy and gross and I felt like I had to work pretty hard for this.. glute didn't feel super good either. Its better but still nowhere near 100%
Next week is going to suck. I'm gonna go out and run 5:18 pace for as long as I can until my glute probably blows up and then I'm gonna have a likely long death march to the finish. It will take a CIM miracle for me to PR, let alone break 2:19. I should have gone with the 2:17 pack at Chicago, looking back that would have been my best shot at running the OTQ. I am still registered for Houston but if my glute isn't right, there is no point in trying to struggle through 6 more weeks. Gotta hope they don't make the OT standard too much faster and try for another shot at this goal in 2024
