Notes

Long run out at Booneville with MacCoy and Sam + Jasko along for the 1st lap. Pretty nice morning out but there was a decent wind out of the south that made the early section of each loop a grind. Kept it conversational and chill the first two laps although we went sub 7 the 3rd mile whereas usually out at Booneville we don't go sub 7 til at least the 2nd lap. Was feeling very chill cruising along the first 15 miles. The 16th mile was straight into that wind and a bit hilly and at 6:04 was by far the fastest mile of the day that far. I was working hard and towards the end of the headwind stretch was wondering if I'd be able to get through this run. Thankfully we turned out of the headwind and pretty much immediately I started feeling better again. We kept the pace solid all the way home, I ran my last 7 miles in about exactly 6:00 pace and Sam easily moved away from me over the last 4. I might have been able to go with him but didn't want to bury myself so was content to keep the pace in the 6:00 range. The hills and sustained effort were definitely getting to me towards the end but glad I was able to finish it off strong

Took a Maurten 160 gel at about 3 to 4, Maurten 160 at about 7, maurten caf 100 at 10 or 11, and a maurten 100 gel at 14ish. The gels didn't settle that well, but didn't have to adjust effort or pace, stomach just felt kinda blah. Glad to get another long effort taking in quite a bit of nutrition, though
